How do you know what graphics card is compatible with a computer?
I have a Hp a6814y desktop and I want to upgrade the graphics card. Help!!
(I want to buy a nvidia 9500 gt or up)
Specs are here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01724879&lc=en&dlc=es&cc=ec&softwareitem=pv-68536-1&os=2100&product=3962097&lang=es

You have a PCIe slot for a graphics card, however you are limited by your 300 watt power supply.

All newer cards are PCIe, but most use more power than your Power supply can deliver.

Yes you have a PCI-Ex16 slot which is excellent! Since you want to have a nvidia 9500 gt or higher you need to upgrade your power supply unit (PSU). I currently have a 300w PSU like yours and can use a nvidia 8600GTS just fine. All you need is a new power supply and you’re good to go! :D I hope I helped!! nice pc by the way ^_^
